History@the Halls- JOHN BROWN – 1826-1883
Queen Victoria’s Highland Servant. Hired originally employed by Prince Albert, upon whose death in 1861 became Victoria’s main servant, taking care of his mistress the Queen for the years of his life , which ended in March 1883 , dying of erysipelas, from attack’s of which he had been troubled with, in the latter years of his life. Dying at Windsor Castle in March 1883, he’s body was returned to Deeside where upon he was buried beside his parents at Crathie Cemetery.
