MEETING VENUE: Mike Sheridan Room

The group was formed in 2007 with the aim of informing and promoting the history of the Ballater area by way of talks, photos, videos, and stories. Our AGM is on the last Wednesday of October followed by a presentation. Subsequent meetings are held on the last Wednesdays of November, January, February, and March with a fun Quiz Night with cheese and wine on the second Wednesday in December. Meetings are held in the Mike Sheridan Room in the Halls at 7.30pm. Annual Membership costs £5 as does the Quiz – a real bargain! Visitors are welcome at £3 per meeting.

Meetings are advertised on posters throughout the village, in the Eagle Diary and on Ballater & Crathie Community Facebook page.

During Victoria week in August, the group hosts a photo tent on the Kirk Green at the Ballater Games. This is an ideal opportunity for locals, visitors and former Ballater residents to catch up and add to the stories behind the photos.

We welcome stories, old photos and newspaper articles relating to Ballater which can be scanned, and the originals returned to the owner.

Our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/299336270078893 has a wealth of stories and photographs along with updates about the group.

If you have any old stories, ancestors from Ballater, or wish to research a project then please get in touch.
